88 comanche chief hard vibration
My 88 comanche has a very bad vibration. It seems to begin at about 50 mph. The tires seem like they could fly off at any time. I have replaced all tie rod ends, and it helped a lil but it still wobbles. A couple of tie rods were shot, but not all. When I press the brakes, especially when going fast, it seems it could start the vibrations. I need some advice, so I don't spend money on the wrong prob.. Would warped rotors cause the truck to go crazy like that, and any more info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 88 comanche chief hard vibration
Warped rotors will cause that kind of vibration, but only when you push on th brake pedal. As soon as you release it, its okay. However if the truck is fine, then starts vibrating suddenly at speed, something is loose and oscillating. Check the ball joints, drag link etc. If it vibrates all the time, look for out- of- round tires or bent rims.

I think I found the cause: the universal joint at the passenger side wheel. It pops back and forth a lil. I hold the joint in 1 hand and turn the hub and there is a lil play. What do ya'll think.

My guess is to keep looking. That play probably is not enough to cause such a big vibration
