Question Towing package question

We just purchased an Odyssey and they installed the towing package today. When I got home and inspected it I noticed that they installed the ball hitch mount upside down and it was scrapped up. They wiring harness also just ends into a bundle of wires. I was expecting that the wires would have ended in a standard round wiring container. Is this normal?

I will only address the issue with the wires.

Yes ... this is normal. With all the different ends on trailers you would need to have all kinds of wire harnesses to cover them all. By just ending the harness like it is ... you can take it to your local trailer garage and have them put the correct end on it and check it to be sure it works with your trailer. Honda sells cars and people need to realize that you would not take your Honda to a trailer place to have it worked on. The same holds true on a trailer. Once the hitch is installed on the vehicle ... the customer should take it to the trailer place and have them complete the installation.

Honda is NOT in the business of trailers. Sometimes I wish we did not have to install these things because of things like this.
