Carbon fiber molding?

Is it possible to mold carbon fiber like you would fiberglass? If so is it possible to get it in its raw form and then mold/form it on my own? Thanks!

Re: Carbon fiber molding?

Yea, that's how it's done...CF mat is overlaid...carbon fiber mat can be tricky to work with if you haven't used it before, but yea, as tibby said, it can be done. Just make sure you buy a qaulity weave. Carbon Fiber mat isn't cheap, so if you find a sale or a good weave for cheap, have at it if you want to.
