Question I need a car, anyone have sugjestions..

First i want to apologize if i screwd up by posting this question. I figured that it was actualy semi serius so i might not get flamed to death.
But heres my question. I'm looking to get a car this summer and I have no clue what type. so far the criter i have set (i didnt chose all of these so sorry) are:
1.recent so 95 and up
2. airbags and saftey
3. semi big (need to transport stuff and people)
4. either front AWD or 4WD.
5. under 6k
6. decent on gas (ie better the 15mpg)
7. easy mantince costs (aka parts that arnt very expensive, maby domestic?)

Thanks to anyone who responds. I hope i did not break to many rules asking this.

My suggestion? Screw all of the requirements except for numbers 6 & 7, and get this beauty: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2464545697

No rules broken at all...no worries

I believe all North American cars after 95 had mandatory airbags, so as long as you're looking at newer cars, then you won't have to worry about that.

My advice? Subaru wagon, either a Legacy wagon or Impreza wagon. Not sure about prices but I'm willing to bet there's a bunch out there for under $6000 (though I may be wrong). They're recent, safe, good for transporting people and stuff, AWD, and get better than 15mpg. I don't, however, know anything about the servicing on them, but I doubt parts and service are very expensive, certainly not excessively.

Older Audi quattro wagons may also be worth checking out.

Re: I need a car, anyone have sugjestions..

Yes. Possum Bourne once had a Legacy wagon that had 600 000km put on it by an outback doctor and the only work done to it besides regular services was to get a wheel bearing fixed.

As long as something is treated well, it will last forever.

You could also look at Toyotas..

Re: I need a car, anyone have sugjestions..

there are 2 95 nissan maxima's for sale in the nissan forums. one's for 3900 and one's for 4800.

i had one that sold with 167000 miles on it and was still running strong. they're good cars and seem to fit your criteria.

my friend has a subura legacy wagon that's been very good to him. a scubydoo would do you too.

Howzabout onna deez, I kinda like Volvo's being as they are safe, tough as nails and easy to maintain, and you can easily tac a few hundred k on the odometer without any major problems.
