Re: replaced alternator & battery/battery still dying
Is the battery going dead during driving, or is it dying while it's parked ? Do you know what voltage the charging system is supplying and how many amp alternator is installed? Also, is there any additional electrical equipment in the vehicle (e.g. amplifier) ?
If its dying while its parked, then there could be something in the car that is draining the battery when it is off. If the battery is dying during driving, then there are is a faulty part or connection in the charging system.

My suggestion is this:
1)Buy Diehard Battery - These batteries are some of the best car batteries you can buy because they will not fail you at freezing temperatures and last MUCH longer than your average battery. 2)Replace your sparkplugs - Could be that one of them is bad and may not be giving you a good spark. 3)Replace your Spark Plug Wires - One of your wires may be fried or something else could be wrong. 4)Replace your battery wires - Could be that there is a segment in your cables that is cut off/disconnected and not giving you power. 5)Check your fuses in your fuse box to see if you have a blown fuse. If that is the case replace it or take it to a good mechanic to have the fuses checked out. If the above does'nt work consult with some mechanics or auto specific professionals. |

My car had a little bit of water but I took it to a Jiffy Lube and made them flush the engine of all liquids (Oil, Engine Fluids, Contaminants, etc.). Then I put some Royal Purple Synthethic Motor Oil and it ran like a champ.
When it sucked in water it would studder and feel like it wanted to stop at around 2,000 RPM's to 3,000 RPM's and it would usually be when I accelerate. So basically what I think you should do above all else is this: 1)Flush the engine by taking it to an Oil Change Shop like Jiffy Lube (ONLY IF YOU THINK WATER GOT INSIDE YOUR ENGINE) 2)Change the oil (Royal Purple is top grade to all motor oils) |
