Ram Exhaust

Im looking to get a louder exhaust. When i bought my 99 ram 5.9l it had dual exhaust on it but its not very loud and sounds airy. I was wondering what everybody thought of http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...&storeId=10101 i was thinkin of that or just going to the muffler shop and gettin a custom exhaust with 3 inch piping all the way back. Any ideas/suggestions?

I think it wouldn't be very smart to spend that much money on the stuff in that link you provided.

What I did is I went down to the exhaust shop, and got a Dynomax Thrush, just a normal red Thrush, not a Turbo Thrush, put on. It's a single in/dual out muffler. I have side exit pipes behind that, one behind each of the rear wheels. It sounds incredible, it barks. I know a guy with a truck similar to mine with dual-3 chamber Flowmaster mufflers, and it doesn't compare to the setup I have. I'll never run anything other than Thrush. All of this cost me 200 Canadian dollars. It was worth every penny. I thought it was going to cost me more...

Re: Ram Exhaust

I bought a flowmaster series 40 single in and dual out which I got from a local auto value and it is outstanding. I have friends who have gone to a shop and spent $400 and are pissed that I spent only $200. I would recommend going this route.

Re: Ram Exhaust

I bought a Magnaflow 3in. in and 2dual 3in. out dumps and you wouldn't believe the performance out of them! The installer drove it around and could not believe the performance muchless the sound out of it. That thing sounds like a 500hp engine and I'm shittin you. Will post a pic of truck soon. Look forward to this unique truck.

Re: Ram Exhaust

Being the asshole that I am, there's nothing I love more than driving through town at 3:30 in the morning and wailing on the gas with straight pipes. It never gets old. It's fun to roll down through a town that's built on the side of a hill, with 40 thousand pounds on the semi with a Detroit and straight pipes, rev it up to 2200 rpm, and sit on the jake. Music to my ears, I tell ya. It's such a rush somehow.

Re: Ram Exhaust

Bleed,
You have to have loud exhaust to keep that pinging V6 noise from your pickup from giving you a headache! LOL...

Re: Ram Exhaust

Hey yeah! Or turn the stereo up way loud!

The motor pings pretty loud when it's warm and going down the highway, and even worse when pulling a hill. The dealer says it's normal, they just keep replacing vacuum hoses and stuff. Whatever, I say let it explode, then it's V8 time!
