stupid question

if u eliminate the cat. converter in a stock civic with just a muffler as the only exhaust mod, can u get it to shoot flames? and does it do anything to performance at all???
i was gonna pull mine off and toss a home made test pipe kinda thing in there but i dunno if if will give any noticable gains or not.
all i have done is a muffler and an intake

Re: stupid question

to get your exhaust to shoot flames, you have to get a flame thrower kit, and yes removing the cat will improve hp, but it is ilegal and you can get a huge fine for doing it.

and u dont need a flame thrower kit to shoot flames, my buddys turbo supra does

and what if I just get a cat and hollow it out?? works the same way as straight pipe pretty much

hollowing the cat doesnt do much since it just leaves a nice open area to reduce exaust velocity

If you had a straitthrough type muffler with no cat then yes you could shoot flames assuming you had your engine running rich.

yea my muffler is straight thru, and my car runs really rich for some reason, so i could just toss a test pipe on and get some flames to come out then huh??
maybe i should look for all the shit then and make a set-up
