New to car modeling

Hi!
I have just started my first serious car project, Tamiya's Mazda RX7. I'm rather new to modeling so I won't be doing any serious stuff, but the brake rotors on the kit are atrocious. I don't mind plain old disc brakes but the kit brakes are not even flat, but jagged! So I'm looking for some photoetched disc brakes meant for the rx7 but to no avail. Is there even such a set just for the tamiya rx7?

Also, would it seem idiotic if an on-road rx7 FD (weekend light racing only kinda car) be equipped with a roll cage?

Thanks!

GW

Re: New to car modeling

Welcome to the world of car modeling.

I produce a set of etched brake discs compatible with most kits, especially Tamiya. Infact they fit the RX7 perfectly - i've checked! http://www.scaleautostyle.com/Brakes.php

Many people fit roll cages to road going cars so it won't be idiotic.

thanks mate! I'll check your site, and I'll contact u privately via email.

I like cars like RX7 FC, FD and Lancia Stratos, Evo 3, but not really "into" full size car mods.

Welcome!!

If you wish to replace the brake disks for the kit, Scale Auto Style has some brilliant generic sets. Have a look at:

www.scaleautostyle.com

Well worth it!!

Even more so if you start collecting After market rims and tyres.
