will my swap smog?
I have a b16a in my 88 civic, and it's time to get my car smogged. I know they fail you at the local smog places based on the visual test, but can anyone tell me if it passes emissions at the referee, or if they know of a place i can take it to get smogged? I'm in lompoc, cali if anyone can help

Re: will my swap smog?
Well since I'm not a Cali person I will give you the best info I can. First make sure you all your emission control doodads (yes, my great scientific terms) are in good working order. Make sure the Cat, O2 Sensor, and everything is good. Run back the timing if possible and have the cat warm before you get there. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you out more.

Re: will my swap smog?
on your way to get the car smogged, i would definitely recommend redlining the engine a few times, if you haven't done so for a while your cat may be clogged up
here's my backup... http://www.eireann.org/diary.html#cat "91 miles per hour in 3rd gear, and 8193 revs later, the cat began to work. As Ireland cold-turkied on carbon monoxide, the reason became clear. I'm a wuss when it comes to driving my car."

make sure your check engine light isn't on and you have all the carb exempt shit on your car. make sure all of your stock emissions devices are still on the motor
