Re: car insurance

Well I am still hanging on to my Parents Ins. as long as I am a full time student so full coverage on my 96 LS is only $163/mo. On most insurance companies modification should not matter at all to the price of your insurance. It is based on the value/crash ratings/stealability (I know I made that word up) of the car you are insuring. If you are charged extra for modifications you may want to look into that casue I think you are getting screwed.

PS Jaxon21 Check agin at that number is that per month or is it every 6 months. Different companies charge at different intervals. $1000.00 divided by 6 months would be about $167.00. right about what I am paying for mine

Re: car insurance

im 23 (oops, im now 24 as of 3 days ago) and i got a 92 ls. im paying 45 a month for liability, but i pay it all in one lump sum so it's about 640 a year. its too old to pay for full coverage not to mention i got me an alarm and i park it inside the garage so theft is pretty slim.

Re: car insurance

Guys, I sell insurance and trust me, there are all kinds of factors that screw with your rates. The biggest is age then sex then record. Then you have the car and if you're elgible for any discounts like good student or multicar (from parents). I learned about insurance when I was very young. What I wanted was a Trans Am but couldn't afford the insurance so I bought an old Caddy then the Trans Am I wanted. I insured myself solely on the Caddy and occasional on the TA, I ended paying less than $200 for a year which translates to about $500 today (this was 13 years ago).

Also, NON of your insurance companies will pay for stolen rims or any other aftermarket items UNLESS you pay extra upfront for that coverage. Don't expect coverage for ANYTHING other than OEM parts unless you talked to your agent.
