Tail Lights 2000 Camry
Hello,
I need to replace the left tailight assembly on my girlfriends 2000 Camry i-4. Does anyone know how involved this is or have any advice/instructions? It was damaged in a snow storm and I'd rather do it myself than take it to a dealer. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Peter |

Re: Tail Lights 2000 Camry
This is fairly straightforward. It would help if you have the replacement part available to see how it is attached.Access is gained from the trunk area.

It's not complicated at all. Just pop off the trunk liner to access the light. I changed my rear lights to Altezzas in 45 minutes. All you need is a 10mm socket wrench.

Remove the plastic trunk liner on the side of the car that you need to replace the lense. There will be 2 plastic clips that hold it in place. Turn the inside of the clip about 1/4 turn and the center will pop out slightly. Once you get the 2 clips out, pull the plastic liner back. There are 3 10mm nuts that hold the lense in place. Remove them. There is one large whit plastic connector that plugs into the lense. If you buy a new lense from Toyota, the wiring and bulbs will come with it. Try www.elmhursttoyota.com. They do a lot of internet business. Parts manager there is great.
