Questions about 50 fastest list

I have a question about the 50 fastest muscle cars list.
1) Why is the 427 cobra listed on there and the 68 hemi dart and hemi barracuda not on the list?
2) Why is the '63 max wedge Fury not listed?

Re: Questions about 50 fastest list

1) The 427 was modified by the factory. The 68 Hemi Dart and Barracuda were technically dealer modified cars.

2) Have to check on the '63 Max Fury

Re: Questions about 50 fastest list

Forgive me, not a Ford Guy, but I do not think the Cobra was modifed by the Ford factory but instead produced in parnership with a third party provider. Hemi Darts/'Cudas were also modified by a third party provider-Hurst-but available through dealerships to the public. One must also lump the '68 Hurst Olds into this same category. Several models started on the traditional assembly lines, but they were "finished" for public consumption by a third party contractor. (such as Shelby Mustangs, S/C Ramblers,)
Technically...none of these were 'factory' cars if your criteria for a factory car is they were built start to finish at the traditional plant and delivered to the public without outside contractor involvement.
If the list includes all cars worked on by third party contractors yet available to the public through the traditional dealerships, one must include the Darts/'Cudas, at the top of the list, along with other "factory" S/S cars or eliminate all 'third party' cars, including the Cobra, from the list.
