Needing opinions

To start, I own a '96 Prelude Si, had it for about a month now, and ready to start modifying it. Thats where the opinions come in.

Cold Air - Cant decide between AEM or K&N. I've gotten good reviews for both. Just cant decide.

Short Shifter - What kind is best?

Underdrive Pulley set - I've looked into the AEM, and considering.

Exhaust - I want a new system, but I love the twin mufflers, and cant find a system for it. Know any?

Thats all for now. Thanx for the help

Re: Needing opinions

I like AEM personally good reviews and a lot of people have them> Mostly likely they have them because of being the best iMO
Short shifter i don't know where you can but one of those but seen some around. I have adaptor that goes on the cable to make short throws. Then i custom shortened it myself easy.
Pulley AEM or Skunk 2 i heard good things about them quitaly is good.
Exhaust I think you could get custom piping and then just go one to buying a muffler that has the twin thing. BUt really and aftermarket muffler is better then stock. And have a big piping would help a lot.

Re: Needing opinions

i agree with km23honda... i just wanted to add, if you are planning on a new exhaust, you may want to consider a header as well. it will add a noticable difference.

ahh know that i think of it to with the pulleys you could go with some cam gears. (adjustable) I not really sure how much they help but i heard very good if you done right. Also with the header DC if you wanted to know what a good brand.

Its funny because all iam telling you get to get what i have on my car i not trying to beise but its truly a good brand that have said to get.

Re: Needing opinions

I've never been one for name brands.

Tell you the truth, I saw no difference between my Iceman CAI and a custom pipe I made with a K&N filter.

You're paying for quality and the name, generic brands (and homemade) works on the same principle at a cheaper price.

Re: Needing opinions

I don't recommend going to a muffler shop and having them make some custom crap job exhaust. I did that, and it sounded HORRIBLY loud. If you do though, make sure they put two resonators on it. Otherwise your neighbors are going to hate you.

I say you get what you pay for.. But that's just me.

ah wow, lots of replys, lol

and I do plan on headers, thanx for the DC tip.

SiGNAL748 ~I'll look into the PsPec short shifter.

And ofcourse I'd go cam gears with my pulley ssytem, just to keep consistancy

Idk if I'd try a custom exhaust, just a system then hook on a twin muffler, i dont want it muscle car loud.

Thanx for all the help

New shifters are coming real soon. They have been completely revised again. I think everyone will be very pleased with the changes. Higher quality materials, more advanced machining processes and a more complete kit. Also, the option to buy single parts from the kit. All problems with all current shifters, mine and others, have been addressed and corrected.

I personally design, draft, manufacter and test the kits and I've been real busy this past year

Take care.

Re: Needing opinions

Don't bother with DC sport headers for the Prelude, they're crap, they're almost the same size as the stock ones. NA headers for the prelude are crazy expensive, it's not worth it (almost a grand for mugen or spoon, the only ones that provide gains). Short shifters, Neuspeed has some stuff I believe. My short throw kit is Neuspeed and works fine. As far as the twin mufflers, DON'T DO IT. You'll lose so much back pressure and you'll end up losing horsepower. AEM intakes are good, i have one and i'm very happy. Pullies, AEM again.
