Code 32 on 95 3.0L

I get the code 32 everyonce in a while.
usually it will come up if i take the van on the highway before it warms up all the way.

I don't see any drivebility problems. everything seems to be oparating fine.

So what is the function of EGR? and what happens when it doesnt function properly?
how do i check if it is functioning properly?

thank you

Re: Code 32 on 95 3.0L

It basically puts exhuast flow into the intake to preheat the fuel so fuel burns easier. Theres so much more to it, thats just the tip. You don't always get runabilty complaints with EGR problems. It is better for the engine to be working correctly.

Stay cool

Re: Caravan fluid changes

Hi,

Your posts are consistently helpful and knowledgeable. I've got a 96 Grand Caravan 3.8L and it's my CAN-DO van. It's helped me with fix-it projects around the house involving lumber, gutter improvements, and sewer pipes for french drain work, hauling my bbq to the beach, and taking the mountainbikes on trips, and the dog loves the arm chairs and tinted windows, really.

Because of all the tranny related postings, I'm wondering how often to change the important fluids. My husband is not a car guy. It's going to be up to me to keep this car pristene. Besides oil changes, can you tell me how often to service the car?

Examples:
Get tranny fluid changed
Antifreeze changed
Brake fluid
power steering

Do regular servicing visits do these by default? I have little recourse to accepting what dealers say and I wonder how much they will tell me or not tell me because I'm a female, etc.

Your advice will be much appreciated as I would like to spoil the Caravan rotten. I've gotten it to give me 27 miles to the gallon on the hwy by keeping the tire pressure correct, driving well and not gunning on the road even in California traffic.

Thank you in advance for any help/advice you give.
