car cutting out

Hi Ya'll, Im new here. My sister just sent me an email saying her car cuts out for no apparent reason.

Here's what she said:

I didn't make it to work yesterday b/c of my car. I am having a terrible time with it. It just dies in the middle of the street @ 50 miles per hour - or whatever speed. The mechanics can't find anything wrong with it - so they treat ME like I'M the dumb one. I am sure if I were a guy - this wouldn't be happening to me!!!

Any ideas?

Thanks, Brian

Well, it would help to know what she drives so I could put this thread where it belongs for you to get some help.

Thanks, I havent really looked gotten to know this site. I wrote her to see what she was driving and she gave me some more details:

The people at the car place said that it needed a new fuel pump, so they put one in - at great expense by the way. Then two days later, it did the same thing. I was very upset by the way they treated me, like I was some kind of dummy. You know it couldn't be their fault. So then I raised a fuss and finally got a loaner car to drive. They said the new fuel pump was defective and installed another one. They said. We will see. But thanks for looking. It is a 2000 Sunfire - BTW.

Re: car cutting out

Jon, looks like no one disagrees with the diagnosis, so far, huh? Or maybe they havent gotten to it, yet. Well, hopefully she'll be on the road with no further problems, soon.

Re: Re: Re: car cutting out

has your sisters problem been fixed with her 2000 sunfire. I have a 2000 sunfire too and it works when it wants to. Right now it is on the side of the road.
