Question What year Cav ??

Looking to buy my daughter a used Cavalier, probably 98-up. Any certain year to avoid? Things to look for when buying/testing (bad, good, etc.). I'm new to this forum, but not new to cars. Thanks to all who reply.

Re: What year Cav ??

All are very good cars. you have 3 choices of motors, 2.2, 2.4 and the new 2.2 Ecotec.

If I were to pick a year, i would say 2002 with the 2.4L LD9 with the Getrag transmission (manual) or if you are going with Auto, they are great, doesnt matter which year.

I would have said stay away from 95-96 as they were new in that year and prone to small problems, but you are looking at 98+ which is great. you wont be dissapointed.
