Bonneville 94 dash lights and radio lights went out

will not come on. Radio works fine just cant see in the dark. has anyone experienced this

Have you checked the fuse?

check fuse and it was good and even replace to be sure and still nothing comes on. where i pull knob out the radio light will go out if i push all the way in it comes on. it there a short some where

OKay, this may sound goofy, but have you turned the dimmer all of the way on (rotate the headlight switch) that is what controls the "brightness" of the dash lights and radio light. The radio display will light up "bright" when you start the car, it is wired to be at full ambience cause it knows if the headlights arent on, it's not dark out and will have to overcome the sunlight. When you pull on your headlights, it will dim (radio display) because it doesnt need to be very bright when its dark out. If the dimmer isnt turned off all the way, IOW, if turning the dimmer doesnt make them come on, then your headlight switch is probably bad.
