Question Rover 620 si Dead spot

Hi all

I have a Rover 620 si L reg, 1993.
My problem is there is a dead spot in the acceleration in all gears between 800 - 1500 rpm, i have been told that it is the Accelerator Detection Switch, cost around £100 to buy.
Can anyone confirm this or if it would be something completly different. I have brand new spark plugs and air filter, also exhaust back box has been renewed.
The car itself has had an LPG conversion on it, and the dead spot seems to be more noticeable when running on petrol.
Any help is very much appreciated.

best Regards

Enizag
