Help Please - When is 2004 X5 released

I am thinking of buying a December 2003 X5 (its a demo model) 4.4 ltr. Will I be getting the 2004 model or previous model ?

check the 10th digit of the VIN #, if its 3, then its a model year 2003, if its 4, then its model year 2004.
Also 2004 models should come with 6 speed auto transmission and boost in power
