dont know bout the cam but the GT already has pretty good gearing.
I had to upgrade my trans to the 3.29 gears (GT's have this already) You could upgrade to the 3.69 gears I'd say go Cam first then worry bout the headers/exhuast. I still dont run headers, wish I could but doing pretty good without. |

You can go cam first, but you're going to have to open up the exhaust some time so you can get the full power from that cam. You're also going to need to upgrade the intake as well. It got to breath in order to flow.
