I have a 1990 celica with stock 185/65/14 rims. Wanted to upgrade so found a guy selling 225/50/16 wheels and tires when the recommended size for this car is 205/50/16. Just got the tires and when I put them on, the back tires inside sidewall has about 2 mm vertical clearance to the strut housing (strut housing is cone shaped so as you go from inside to outside of tire, you get more clearance. The horizontal clearance is fine. This car is front wheel drive. Just wondering if this clearance is enough or am I gonna get in trouble running with these tires? Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: very little tire/strut clearance
That's less clearance than I would be comfortable with. 10mm would be more like it. If you get a standing wave in the tire at speed, you would be rubbing on the strut. I'd get something with the correct offset.
