I have a 87 BroncoII with 2.9 v6 with 136k miles on it and was gonna swap the motor in it and wasn't sure how big I could go? I was thinking maybe 3.8 or 4.0 or if I could get it to fit with alot of mods maybe a 5.0. If anyone has any suggestions on a engine or a year model engine or how hard it would be on dropping a 5.0 in it. Thnx

Re: Bronco II-how big can I go?
Do a google on James Duff... The guy is in Washington and specialized in beafing up Bronco II and all the parts he has made are for that group of Rangers and Bronco II. He also gives info on motor swaps. The 4.0 is a direct engine swap + all wiring harness & puter. The 302 is your next swap possible, the thing is there will be more modification if it is stock suspended and less modification if it is lifted. Hope this helps James Duff is a pro..

Re: Bronco II-how big can I go?
Ohhh and if you want more power you better look at changing out the A4LD (something like that) transmission and installing a real one ..C4 Bronco II transmissions are Their weak point of the vehicle. I have one parked out front and have researched Smurfing out the vehicle, my neighbor has a Ranger that is and I am envious.
