Re: Carfax

Carfax is a money generating rip-off machine.

Re: Carfax

To disagree with Indy8, I believe that they offer a good service. I have used them several times and they have saved me from buying several cars that have been in severe accidents or other major problems reported. Hey mrjenkins go buy a unlimited for a month if your are seriously used car shopping, it will let you know the history of the car etc. I don't think anyone is going to let you use their account that they paid for at your benifit. Please take no affense. Goood Luck

Re: Re: Carfax

SEVERAL cars? Were you shopping in a junk yard? Most people that use the service never recieve a negative report because there is no salvage title police, so only a small percentage of vehicles that are repairable are ever reported. But hey, lucky for you it worked.

Re: Carfax

Yes as the saying goes, "You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. And no I was not shopping at a junk yard. Oh and by the way the reports give you police reports of accidents and what type of damage it was, severe, slight etc. only if they are reported as you said Indy8. Basically it gives you a good history of all reported things on that car, owners, police reports, etc. If you don't like it don't try it otherwise. Sorry if some of this doesn't make sense.

I bought a car for my wife last year and looked up quite a few that I was interested in. For $20 or $30 for one month I felt it was worth it even to steer away from 1 car that had been in an accident where I could get the same deal on one that hadn't. Anytime an insurance company pays out for repairs it gets recorded there.

Frankly if I still was in my 30 days I wouldn't have a problem looking up stuff for someone.

If it makes Indy feel any better I got her an import

Re: Carfax

ALLRIGHT! A car you will only have to change oil and wash.
