Angry 96 3.8 windstart won't start

the other day my car wouldn't start at all, it would just crank and crank, so I replaced the coil. After the new coil I got it started but had to crank it many times... I than replaced the plugs and wires (dont try this at home kids) The car now run beautiful, but is still hard to start. Here's the wierd part, I get in the thing crank it over and it won't start, I then turn the key off and attempt it agian and it starts right up. I can crank it 5 time turn it off than it starts right up, I can crank it 10 times turn it off and try it again and it starts right up...today I found out that if I just crank it once and turn the key off and do it again it starts right up.

Are you getting a check engine light? being a 1996, you really need to read the codes or you'll wind up waste serious $$$ on needless parts changeouts. As a blind guess, it could be a faulty fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator.
G/luck

no start

rodeo02 is right. The fuel pump is losing its prime (leaking check valve)when the vehicle sits for any length of time. The first ignition key turn primes the pump and lines (you will hear the pump humm.) and the second key turn will start the vehicle as the fuel has now reached the engine fuel rail. Fuel pump replacement time I''m afraid.
