Spec V Year

I'm looking into the Spec Vs and I like the options available. I won't be getting one for a while still, but I'm planning on buying a used model. What year should I go for? What are the advantages of the '04 models that the '01-03 models do not have? By the time I'll get one, the price difference probably won't be that huge between an '03 and '04. They seem pretty comparable, and if the only difference is looks, I might prefer the '03s. Thanks!

i think the 04' is just a bit faster! but yeah, for looks the 03' no doubt!

First, the SE-R started in 2002. You can find 2002 SE-Rs for around 12 grand but you have to watch out for the mileage. Some 2002s that haven't been properly taken care of may have oil comsumption problems. The 2003 SE-R is probably a better bet and IMO they look better than the 04s. The Sentra is scheduled for a redesign sometime in 2005 so watch for that also.

04 advantages:
they dyno 2-4 whp higher than 02/03
brembo option
nice tail lights
hood is kinda cool i guess
better audio fanatic system so says Nissan
no recalls (correct me if i'm wrong on this)

04 disad:
ugly headlights
plain-jane gauges
bucktooth

02/03 advatanges:
better lookin front end
red gauges

02/03 disad:
worse lookin rear end
slightly slower
worse system (?) although i think it kicks ass anyway
2+ recalls
NO BREMBO!

ALSO:
02 has red seats (boo....)
02 has the worst gearbox of the 3 years
02 has diff gearing (worse) than 03/04

avoid 02, go with 04.
if you can get 03 for a lot cheaper than 04, go with 03.
