I have an '88 crx and i need the widest footprint possible. I need maximum friction so i can lose all my gas mileage and hopes of a top speed. Plus, a whole bunch of rubber strapped on my wheels will weigh them down quite a bit. that said, i am almost positive i can fit 225/50/r15 's on my car. BUT, what do i have to do to accomplish it? Wheel spacers? Roll fenders? Modify fenders? Modify wheel well plastic? I need help or ideas before i go rip up my daily driver. P.S. the amount of money i spend IS a factor.

Re: tires too wide?
The first part of your question didn't sound for real. And plus that tire size will throw off your speedo and odometer and make your car accelerate like a slug.

Re: tires too wide?
225/50/R15's for an 88 CRX is too big. You can barely fit 215's in an 01+ Civic (But possible according to some tire companies) and the 01+ Civics have bigger wheels than the CRX.

Re: tires too wide?
You can fit 225 wide tires but you will need spacers. Plenty of us run that size for autocross.
