Unhappy Problems, Problems and more.... Problems.

Well, I finally got the O2 sensor wiring figured out... got most of my car put back together and ready to start up and drive home from my shop.... BUT... went to start her up today and got no fire.
Turning over and turning over but no vroom vroom for me.
Anyways... checked all my wiring to make sure everything was in order... only wiring change I had made between now and the last time it was running was on the o2 sensor, so then I start checking all my fuses.. they're all fine.... then I started thinking about the gas, and the fact that it's been sitting there since July with no change.... so I siphoned off some of the gas to check it, and thought I'd found my problem. It seemed off color. Set fire to a sample of it and it burned very very slowly... and I was able to blow out the fire and restart it several times... so I went and got some fuel treatment for gas that's been sitting for a while and put that in the tank... again tested the fuel treatment on a sample of the gas, and again tried setting it on fire.... at that point it burned a lot quicker and I couldn't put the flame out.
Went and tried starting the car again.... still nothing. So... idea was to take the fuel supply hose off the engine and test to see if the fuel pump was even pumping any fuel to the engine... hit the key for a little bit, and nothing came out tried a few more time, still with no results. Tried both before and after the filter and had the same results.
So... time for a new fuel pump I suppose.
And that's just one more thing to buy to complete my civic.

Ohhh man I know the frustrations of stuff like that bro. Back before I owned a honda I had a really cool 85 RX-7 and I had such a hard time doing the 13B swapped. I had all kinds of problems it took me like 3 months to figure out all the kinks and all the stuff we had done wrong. But anyway I feel your pain. And I wish you luck with your project becuase there is no feeling like the one when everything is complete. So good luck bro. And keep up the good tunning.

Did I mention the problem I'm having with the drivers side brake caliper? got new rotors and pads... but can't get the caliper to open up wide enough for the piston assembly to go over the pads.

Do you mean you cant get the piston in the caliper to go back any further for you to slide it on over the pads and rotor? Have you tried using one of those little tools to put pressure on the piston and to move it back. Take the cover off you brake fuid cannister and try using a vise that's usually what we use and it keeps us from bleeding the brakes over.

No.. the piston is compressed all the way... but the pivot point on the caliper (opposite of the caliper B bolt) is supposed to slide freely in and out to allow movement for the outside portion of the caliper. And this pivot point is siezed up. had to work hard to get it to pivot even, and it wont slide at all. There in lies my problem.

Hey man, I bow down to you even attempting a 13B swap. That shit would give me a fucking headache. How many vacuum hoses are on the intake in that thing? There's more vacuum hoses with that motor than 20 4th gens combined and that's not exaggerating. My friend had a 96 RX-7 Twin Turbo and he blew his APEX seals. I helped take it apart and troubleshoot it and I was scared to even look at the Intake. They're fun to work on though...if u ever get a chance

Ohhhh man dont even remind me about that...see at first I was like well I'll keep the DFI and wire it all up but like you said trying to hook up all those vacum hoses was a bitch so after a month me and my bro were like fuck this and I went out and bought a 650Holley double pumper and a holley intake manifold from Racing Beat...best decision I made. but it took me like 3 months of tinkering with that shit to just say fuck give me a Holley. let me tell you though it haulled ASS !!!!! I was running low 14 before the street port and then mid 13's after the street port. WOW you got me all worked up I really miss my RX-7....=(
