Pinging how too?

Well I got a 1990 Ford taurus with the 3.0 Vulcan Vin U and I have 118k Miles. I just recently had the timing chain replaced cause i had a misfire when deaccelling from freeways and such turns out to be a really worn chain. well that got fixed then i had to replace the TFI module and i got the car back 1 Week ago turns out that they replaced the whole ditribitor. Now Since the warmer weather now i got a noise in the engine and i cant figure it out. It sounds like pinging when i got up hills and accel i get this noise that sound like rod knock but then the noise is faster then then a rod noise. It will not do it at idle even when revving the gas. if you put it in drive or revese and hit the gas it will do it and when you do that it seems the loudest. I got all new injectors plugs cap and rotor and wires and a new MAP sensor. I dont have a EGR or a MAF Sensor. How can i tell what the noise is from?

sounds like your timing is a little advanced. if you dont have a timing gun, try to fill it up with 92-94 octaine for 2 fill ups. if it is your timing, the pinging should go away after your second fillup. then you can bring it back in to the shop that did your chain, their mistake.
