Another boost leak ?....What is this in this pic??

Okay well I did the leak test today and it holds up until 6-7 psi then it just stays there, never goes past that at all. I sprayed everything down w/ soapy water and looked and listened and the only thing I found was at my BOV, which is a Greddy Type S. It was leaking some out of where the screw is, but I don't think thats the problem. It's bound to leak some. Anyway, thats all I cound find. Anyone else have any other ideas?
2. Also, I have my Profec B hooked up and if I turn it on while doing the leak test, the pressure drops to like 2psi, and if I turn it back off, it goes to about 6-7psi, where it is stuck at. It doesn't matter how high the settings on the Profec are at, it will still stay at 2psi with it on.
3. Annnnnnnnnnnd, starting when I hooked up my Profec yesterday, the car stumbles now in the lower RPM's. It gets fine once I get to about 3k but leaving from a stop light it just stumbles alot. It won't do this everytime, but more often than not.

Thanks for anyone that can help me out. Hopefully I'll be able to stop making "fix my car" threads and start making "I just whooped this cars ass" threads soon. Thanks guys.

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

The best thing to do will be eliminate some of these variables. Bypass the profec and run a boost line straight to the WG actuator. MAke sure that fixes any problems you saw after the EBC install. When looking for leaks with it pressurized be sure to follow EVERYTHING from the turbo outlet, all the way to the head. All ppes, couplers, hoses, emmissions vac lines, etc. I had a massive boost leak that was entirely hidden under the battery, took me forever to find it. Cost me .5 seconds on my ET. Check the injectors lower seals as best you can, and the manifold to head gasket as best you can. You shouldbe able to test to at least 20 psi. It may drop to 10 relatively quickly, but f it takes a good full minute to go from 10 to zero, you can consider it good.

Under the battery? I didn't even know I had pipes there, lol. I had a bad boost leak too, when I first got the car, the pipe going from the intercooler to my BOV wasn't even connected, lol. I'll look under the battery tomorrow and see ifthere is anything over there.

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

No pipes under there, but a bunch of vac lines. Actually, I'm not even sure what gen car you have. If its a 1g, I'm not sure you have that same mess under there. I believe 1g and 2g put the charcoal canister in the same place (2g up to 96 anyway, 97 puts it in the front bumper on the driver side) so the mess of lines and valves etc should be there. Ether way, you get the idea. Any vac line is potentially a bost line and can blow off, crack, etc. Good luck, happy hunting

Should this be connected to something?? I don't see any loose tubes anywhere, but it seems to me like it's there for a reason? I don't know what it is, it's found under where the battery goes.

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

I Cant remember off hand, I tossed that stuff a while ago to eliminate the constant leaks. But judging by how clean that nipple is, I would say there was a hose on it until fairly recently But I Cant be sure unless I look at it. Does the line on the other port have the mess of valves and cansiters and other lines on it? Is the line that goes back to the intake pipe supposed to come from the mess on the back port, or off that front port.

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

yeah the line on the other pipe connects to a cannister and other crap. The line that goes from the intake pipe, I can't tell where that goes too, somewhere behind the engine. But I also noticed how clean the nipple is. Strange....Also I did a leak test again today and it held up to about 9psi....Still not great but better than 7 I guess. I didn't even change anything...wierd. Doesn't explain why my car is running like crap though. When I take off it just stumbles and acts like its about to die, then all of a sudden the car kicks in and takes off...

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

Every vac line that isnt the FPR or BOV is for emissions The line from the intake pipe doesnt run behind the motor, it runs to that mess attached to the charcoal canisiter in the picture you posted above. Thats all avap canister crap and some branches off to the EGR setup.

Someone that has NOT removed thier emissions (99.9% of this baord) please go and see what if anything attaches to that clean nipple in the pic above.

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

Okay well I hooked up my leak tester to the TB instead of the Turbo to try it and I still got to 7psi and no higher. That would mean my leak is somewhere after the TB, correct? So I can disclude all of the intercooler pipes, BOV and such now...

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

Yes, you are correct. Thats a good way to narrow down leaks. 90% of the time though they are after the TB anyway, but not always.

Can't find anything though, have soaked it down w/ soap and everything. I guess I'm going to have to take my car into Mitsu or something. It's running terrible.

Re: Another boost leak ?....like you guys haven't heard enough of them

Well I unhooked the tubes from the Profec B's motor and hooked it back up to the BCS, the car is running fine now. Why does it run like shit w/ the Profec hooked up???? (P.S.) I still have a boost leak somewhere but my car isn't running like absolute shit anymore...this was the main problem...
