Question honda crx jdm d15b vtec

Hi everyone!
have a prob. with my crx... Just put in a jdm d15b vtec and i cant get it to run good, it sounds like a mustang with a cam.. will not idle good at all. i put a new timing belt on it maybe got it out of time. can someone give me some help with that??? on the crank pulley it has 3 notches and one out by its self a white notch. i put it on that notch the one by its self right?? what about the top cam gear? up is up) and it has two arrows on the sides of the cover behind the cam. it looks like it lined up. but it must not be. the car is a 91 crx i used my pm6 ecu and my si dist. and my intakes and my si inj. Thanks for any help you can give me.

yes, You'll line up the crankshaft pulley's single white mark with the triangle point on the timing belt cover & the Camshaft pulley should have "up" just about straight up... slightly tilted forward. You'll be lining up the lines on the sides of the cam pulley with the arrows on the rear cover.

So you're right about that. I have a JDM D15B in my CRX as well but i went OBD1 all the way... I'll keep you in mind.

Re: honda crx jdm d15b vtec

Hi thanks bluecrxnc! I have it all lined up well it looks like it anyways, but still sounds like its got a big cam in it. The # 1 cyl is not hitting good at all, i can take the plug wire off and you can not notice a big change in way it runs. and when i hook a timing light to it, the light will flash ever once in a while. but i pull off the plug wire with the light still hooked to it and the light works fine. would you thank my head is bad? thanks for your help

Check your ground cables (tranny & valve cover) They may prove to be an issue. You use new spark plugs? That one could be fouled.
