Help Me...please!
Ok heres what Iv got. My fuse from the battery to the amp keeps blowing. Im out of idea on what it could be. Iv gone over my wiring a dozen times and nothing is standing out. I have the ground wire grounded to a trunk hinge. I ground off the paint at the connection, but i didnt grind the paint off between the hinge and the frame. Could that be why my fuse keeps blowing?

having a bad or missing ground would cause little or no current to flow, you have too much - so you're barking up the wrong tree. You either have a short in the power wire or the amp is blown such that it is shorted either in the power supply or accross the speaker outs. Look CAREFULLY at the power wire where it comes in contact with the car chassis, especially where it passes from the engine bay to the passenger compartment to see if the insulation is nicked anywhere. If you have a multimeter, disconnect the power wire from the battery and the amp, then check for a short from the power wire to the the chassis.

If you're confident (and it won't void the warranty, this depends on the amp manufacturer) you could open up the amp to look for any obvious signs that it's blown. Melted wires, black/brown spots, etc are a dead giveaway. If you disconnect the power wire from the amp (make sure it's not touching the chassis! Just let it hang in free air) and you replace the fuse, does it still blow immediately? This obviously wastes a fuse though, if you have a lot of spares you could try it, if not then try to bum a multimeter from a friend and test the power wire like Paul suggested.

are you using the suggested fuse and wire size for the amp? too many times i see people with inadequate fusing because they wanted to save some $$ on a power kit.

what amp is it?
what gage wire(both)? how long is wire (both, about)? what size fuse? what subs? do you have more than one amp on the wire? how long have you had it before this happened? how long tel the fuse blows? the fuse holed has no cracks or holes in it letting water in?

get an ohm meter take each speaker (with the wires off) and get an ohm reading from each speaker . A 4 ohm speaker should be from 3.4 to 4.2
If the reading is lower than that or you dont get a reading, you have a bad subwoofer.. I dont recommend taking the amp apart, if you have any kind of warranty it will end when you do that... we are all assuming you are using a properly rated fuse too...
