Talking How to launch an Auto GS-T/GSX?

My RS is toast, Canadian tire said that the mainboard or something inside is messed causing the car to not start. I have to get it towed all the way to Mits now, after its done I will be selling it and getting one of the turbo models.

I am going to buy either an Automatic Eclipse GS-T or GSX not too sure yet. Anyone know how to lauch these (automatic) beasts when racing?

Yea if your racing with an auto, your going to get toast. A manual gs could probally keep up with you.

Re: How to launch an Auto GS-T/GSX?

Yea I have beaten a stock talon tsi (i think tsi, the turbo one) and it was auto it was my friends car. And at that time all i had was only a intake and a muffler, and i beat him by a half a car to a full car length. I have a 98 gs.

The fact remains that automatics are, as a rule, slower than their manual counterparts. Less control over the engine = the car does whatever it damn well pleases.

Automatic is just slow.

there are plenty of cars that are fast as hell with an automatic tranny, yes the launch kinda sucks but you can make up for those things with a stall converter and a shift kit will get it in a pretty close range to a manual tranny, plus you dont have to worry about missing a shift...auto trannys also shift quicker! but the only reason i would want an auto is if i was making a shit load of power and only used the car for race! there are a lot of pros and cons about auto and manual trannys!
