Quarter mile times??

I cant seem to find good quality quarter mile times for a 1996 Neon sohc manual. i can only find quarter mile times for the other neons like the r/t the acr and the high line,but none for the regular coupe. help me please cause i need to kno who i can keep up with.

stock sohc mtx is mid 16's, but how good you drive is the biggest factor.

I was just reading an old Motor Trend magazine on the 96 models.. They had 0-60 in 8.4 seconds and low 16s in 1/4th for the highline.. However Dodge made a Neon Coupe before 1996 called the Lite that had the same SOHC engine that the rest of the Neons had and the same horsepower rating.. The total weight was like 2,300lbs versus 2,650 or so. Motor Trend got the Lite to run 0-60 in 7.1 seconds and 15.2 in the 1/4th. Since the Base Coupe is around 2,300 lbs it should be pretty close to that..

You should really look into the SRT-4 it goes 0-60 in 5.6 seconds. I havent raced a 1/4 mile yet.. Just got it about 3 weeks ago but really looking forward to it.

those are slow, just get a McLaren F1. they go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.

The SOHC loves basic mods, throw a good intake and muffler on it. If money is a problem then throw a stock DOHC muffler on and there will be a noticable gain. Maybe even an Underdrive pulley and you could give even R/T's and ACR's a run. Another thought is getting a DOHC 3.94 tranny for better acceleration. DONT GO SPEND $20000 ON AN SRT-4! Plenty of potential in your little SOHC!

The dohc tranny what is its gear ratios. And shouldnt the sohc's top out at 130 like the dohc. My sohc doesnt seem like it can

who the fuck cares about top speed, its all about acceleration. for a sohc get a header, udp and intake and it will be rippen.
