Question Speed vs ET

Can somebody PLEASE explain wtf is going on here....

------1st Run---------2nd Run---------3rd Run
R/T-----.666------------.534------------.408
60'----2.521-----------2.577-----------2.603
330----7.293-----------7.377-----------7.437
1/8---11.269----------11.338----------11.430
MPH----62.39---------- 63.81-----------62.44
1000--14.719----------14.761----------14.835
1/4---17.655----------17.667----------17.725
MPH----76.66-----------77.01-----------77.81

Results from the track this past weekend... I don't want to hear any shit about it being slow bla bla bla... I'm hoping somebody can explain to me why my trap speed is going up, but my e/t is going down..... Keep in mind I'm driving an automatic 4 cyl '03 tib. Only performance mod so far is CAI and I unbolted the mufflers for the race.

By looking at your 60' times, it looks like you have some wheel spin off the since they keep getting slower too. In some cars this can increase the mph, but you lose time from the 60' and it lowers your et. Plus, with fuel injected cars, they are almost never consistent. Different air temps, altitude, pressure, they all make a difference as to the amount of fuel the computer dumps into the engine. I race a low 9 second '69 Camaro. It can run 9.15s all day, but the mph can vary 3mph. You can see it at www.agbulletracing.com On the site I'm actually JJ. My dad is named John also, so I go by JJ.

Yeah, that seems to be the general concensus so now I have another question for you. I did a small burn out on my first run but didn't for the other two because I was told that doing a burn out on street tires is actually detrimental to tire spin. Was that guy full of shit or do you think there may have been some other factor that contributed to my tire spin on the last two runs?

How are you doing the burnout???? Are you going through the waterbox for the burnout or what. If it were me, drive around the water box and try a dry one. I can't believe a 4cyl auto is having any wheel spin in the first place. My 02 Eclipse 5spd, I can dump the clutch at 3k rpm and not have any wheelspin. So, obviously they must not be prepping the track wherever you are running at. Try launching at different rpms too. The stall on your car is probably only about 1100 or 1200 rpms, if that much, so try to take it up to there. It gets the throttle open a little bit and might help the launch. Try dropping the tire pressure too down to about 17-20psi. That will help with traction at launch too. Try a number of things, it take a long time to get a car tuned to launch right. In our Camaro, we have a number of different adjustments to make that change the launch. Pinion angle (also changed the amount the front wheels come off the ground), tire pressure, down to 1/4psi, launch rpms, lots of things.
