Cool

DOHC 150HP version. Dust most normally asperated (non turbo / super charger) competition. Good blank sheet starting point for mods.

Re: Which neon is better?

Yep. Stock, the Magnum beats the DOHC. Modified, the DOHC has more potential for power.

Re: Which neon is better?

the dohc is actually pretty fast...my friend has one that had a AEM-cold air intake and a full exhaust(header back) and can easily cherp the tires through 2nd and if your lucky in 3rd...the only prob is the damn head gasket...theyre know for blowing out, and the engines leak oil no matter what u do

And his is modified. Stock-for-stock, the Magnum has a better power curve.

Utter nonsense. The HG problem was fixed YEARS ago. If a Neon leaks after the new, updated HG was installed, it wasn't done properly. Period.

A SOHC that is correctly tuned can eat up most DOHC engines.... Always go for the underdog!!

It depends.. The SOHC base Neon and DOHC/SOHC ACR verisons are the quickest Neons due to their extremely light weight. A 96-99 SOHC base neon (no options) would most likely take a R/T. I have driven both cars and my base coupe seems a few shades faster than the R/T, but then again I took out the weather stripping under the hood, took off the snorkel, added a K&N, and I have a DOHC muffler.

It's my understanding that the only difference between the base tranny and the R/T trannys is the 5th gear.. I read that on the org.. so not sure..
