I have a question, what is the big deal about old threads being brought back up.

Does it take more band width or something?

In a way, yes. When someone resurrects an older thread, others see it and reply, often to posters who don't even frequent the board anymore. It's almost like they're talking in an empty room or something.

In addition, there might be old information posted, which will just mislead people who think that the thread is current.
