just wondering
i have a 99 zx2 automatic and i was wondering what the L mean if it means anything and what is it for and what the differents between the over drive D and just D if anyone can help me out thanks

L = Low gear for uphill or towing.
D = Drive stays 3rd 2nd and 1st gear good for city driving. OD = overdrive uses 4th on the highway for fuel economy and top speed. |

How long could you keep the car in D. This has had be confused for a while and im glad you cleared up the L b/c i always though OD was for uphill and highway and D ive heard you can only use up until about 30 mph... okay lemme know thanks

L is up till like 30, D is up till some where in the 80's i believe
but the manual tells you to keep the car in OD for "normal" driving |

D is for the city up to the speed about 45mph, the reason is that in the city you are always stoping. While engagaed in D the Engine helps slow the car down saving your brakes. OD is made for long distance for fuel economy, once in OD if you take you foot off the gas the car coasts as if you put it in N.
