Suzuki bandit 600-1200
Hey guys. I wanna trade in my DR650 for a bandit, between 600 and 1200cc's, doesnt really matter too much to me. I was wondering if anyone knew any commmon problems that the bandits tend to have? And also what a fair asking price would be from a dealer for a used one (96-2000) and what a dealer should offer for a low mile (2000 miles) DR650 (2000 model year) in good condition for trade in?
oh, and check out these gloves. http://street-bikes.ridegear.com/sto...ntiglvlong.jpg hehe. Thanks guys. *edit* oh yeah, one more thing; does anyone know where i can find helmets with those ..i dunno what to call them.. "nose bumps" i guess? where the bottom edge of the visor bumps up where the nose is, instead of going flat across?

If you want to keep your bike for any longer than about 2 riding seasons, avoid the Bandit 600. I love the styling, and I Love Suz, but it has a KATANA engine... which are known to be less than desirable to the seasoned rider, not to mention, not known to be very reliable.
As for helmets with the breath-guard, try the HJC AC-11. It's new, so it's on the more expensive side, but there is a removable breath-guard that is AMAZING. I never have problems with my visor steaming, and the helmet is really comfortable (for me, and my brother). Good luck!

Ohh, thanks for the advice, tangie. So i guess now i'm stuck between the SV650 (or SV1000) and the Bandit 1200. I looove that naked bike style, and they're both so similar...

Alright, i've decided on the SV650. Just can't beat the v-twins
From all i've been studying up on them, they handle awesome too, and are ridiculously awesome bikes for their price. I just need to find an aftermarket windscreen for those highway trips. Oh, and convince the 'rents to a) let me ride a bike in the city and b) trade in that goddamn DR650
