cold Air intake eclipse 00

i have a eclipse 00 and wondering what kind of cold air intake do i need
how easy is it to install thanks

What engine...V6 or I4?

Actually, that doesnt matter. Stick with the major brands, like AEM or Injen. Installing an intake is probably one of the easiest things to do on earth.

ive heard about the rubber connectors rotting with the AEM intakes. i havent heard ne complaints with the Injen. i think the new Injen only come as polished, so if u want some color...u might want to check into that

Yeah, he is right about the AEM thing. I forgot about that.

I had an Injen RD for a long time, and I loved it. But, many will argue that it's all "just pipes", which is probably true. You will get the same power from everythign I think.

But yeah, AEM is no bueno.

So the AEM's are junk, thats what I wanted to get. Plus, can you get the injen with a Bypass valve. I dont want to suck in the water, and blow my head gasket. Haha! Not trying to be a dick i just thought that was funny. but seriously is there a bypass for the Injen?

You can use the AEM bypass on an Injen I believe.

The intake should come with instructions. If not, check the garage forum of www.eclipseforums.org/forum

if this old air intake installs around the engine do you need a new hood or do you just put it in around the engine ? thanks

It replaces the stock airbox. No, you dont ned a new hood.

if u dont know where the stock air box is, then u probably havent even popped your hood open. in that event, i would suggest that you pay somebody to do it before you destroy your engine

Its very hard to damage your engine with just an intake install, but, I would seriously do some reasearch and try and learn a little about cars before you start modifying it. You obviously dont know much at this point. But, that is what we are all here for. If you need any more help, just post it up.
