Urethane Strut Spacers?
ok, well i lower my car with a nuespeed race spring / kyb gr2 strut setup, and b/c the struts are a factory lenth, and the springs are lowered, they did not compress at all. obviously when the car is down off a lift, the springs will compress, but i'm afriad the strut will not have the free travel it should. also, on bumps the rear springs are hopping loose in the strut (only on the rear)due to the zero compression of the spring. would a urethane strut spacer help the spring set a little better in place? due they even make them? i know they do for trucks, but i'm clueless on imports. they shitty part is i have an appointment for a 4 wheel alignment on monday, so i need to get the strut deal fixed quick. thanks for any input.

Re: Urethane Strut Spacers?
I'm not sure what you are asking.. Are you saying that the stopper on the inside of the strut, that keeps the top of the strut assembly from bottoming out on the strut casing, is too big? If that's what you are asking, you are supposed to cut that stopper down, almost in half.
Maybe you can try to explain better what is happening.

Re: Urethane Strut Spacers?
no, not on the strut tower itself... against the spring it's self, where it sits on the bottom plate of the strut.
anyhow, it don't really matter anymore, i went to summit racing, and they claim no such part exists. oh well. |
