2001 noise

I have been hearing a loud, banging/rattling noise when i drive above 50 or so mph. There was a post to this a while ago but never was answered. I believe it is the roof rack is loose, does anyone know how i can tighten that or were i can find how to tighten the rack? please help. Thanks

Hey, I had the same problem on my Rodeo. I first checked the rack on the roof of the car, there are knobs that you can turn to tighten or loosen the rack. A couple of them were loose and I thought that was the problem, but still kept hearing a rattling noise, especially when I was on the interstate. We had put a bug deflector or bug guard on the front of the hood, if you have one of those, that is it. It was very loose, I took it off and there is no more noise. I hope this helps.

A similar rattling in my 2001 Rodeo was caused by the "O-Ring" around the rear glass. It was replaced under warranty (3yr/50k).
