the swap will most likely cost you twice as much as if you turboed it! i would suggest putting a turbo on it to start... then if you want to boost more then do some upgrades with the internals! you can turbo your car for under $2000 if you know how to work on cars... if you dont it will probably cost 500-700 more, let me know if you have any other questions!

Save up the money to get a gst or a gsx because it would be less than the engine swap. If your worried about insurance then turbo the rs. Either way you'll have save up a good amount of money.

I only put that car on my avatar cause it has my body kit on it. It's definitely not mine. To turbo the rs you would need a lot of extra parts to upgrade you engine. With the 420a, I wouldn't go over 10psi until the engine is strong. Eclipserst is the expert on turboing the n\t. Also Hahn Racecraft usually has the best turbo kit. The only kits I seen are star, hrc, and jackson racing which are all around the same price range.

A lot of those extra parts would be internals such as cams, piston, and others like longer head bolts which eclipserst has warned us about in the past. You would also need a new fuel pump, lines, fittings and even more things. There are millions of threads that go through all of this. Just do the search and there will be more than enough answers.

Re: whot chice is better? engine or turbo for rs

You decide....(from 2gnt)
1. 4G63 turbo engine (stock)********* $1500
2. transmission (stock GS-T FWD)***** $500
3. wiring harness for engine********* $300
4. 4G63 ECU (stock)****************** $300
5. shift linkage********************* $200
6. custom engine mounts************** $200
7. chassis cross member************** $100
8. complete exhaust****************** $200
9. intercooler, turbo, related parts* $500
10. boost gauge/fuel filter, etc***** $300
11. Installation******************** $1500
This totals $5600, and doesn't include unforeseen obstacles in the installation.

To run a 4g63, you would also need to gut the engine bay because the 420a is on the driver's side while the 4g63 is on the passenger side. The intakes are on opposite directions.

too add to ashah's post.... if you really want to do the swap, keep in mind another thing, then car will be stock still... even after that 5600 that you spent on the swap, now you put that 5600 into the 420a and you have a fast as hell sleeper your choice i guess but i would spend your money and time wisely! just my
