Transmission/Shifting problem

Hi, i have a 93 Maxima GXE, unfortunately with automatic transmission (couldnt find stick). Anyway, i get a little jerk from 1st to 2nd gear, at around 15 mph. The other gears are ok. This jerk is not noticeable when i accelerate quickly and it becomes less noticeable after i've driven the car for a while.

So, do you all think it is the transmission or something else? I hope not the transmission, cause that's gonna cost mucho $$$. By the way, if you think it is the transmission, what's a reasonable price for a new one? (I'm expecting way more than a grand)

Thanks in advance for all your input!

Re: Transmission/Shifting problem

could be the tourqe converter or the valve body.

The MP checkpoint is not an Imperial Stormtrooper roadblock, so I should not tell them "You don't need to see my identification, these are not the droids you are looking for."

Re: Transmission/Shifting problem

my 93 maxima se used to do pretty much the same thing(by the way u described it) and my dad changed all the spark plugs and put in Bosch Dual Platinum Tipped Spark Plugs in it and it hasn't done its hesitating or anything of the sort since...so it must of been bad spark plugs or something...might try it for ur 93 GXE...

Interesting how changing the spark plugs got rid of the problem. It doesnt makes sense to me since the plugs are basically used to start the engine. I'd be happy as hell if that fixed the problem! Are u sure ur dad didnt flush the engine or anything else like that also?

I'm willing to try anything, so........Thanks
