sound system mods
I saw somewhere that i can hook an amp to the stock headunit, i like the look of the stock so i want to keep it if at all possible. The question is has anyone transfered their stock disc changer somewhere in the car ie. the glove box or the armrest, somewhere that it wont skip when i get subs. I am making a box for 2 10" solo's. I just dont want my cd's to skip. ANy sugestions, besides getting a new headunit?

Re: sound system mods
no you have to make it, i just hooked a wire up from the amp input to the left and right rear speakers and it worked fine

Re: sound system mods
I have a pretty sweet sound system. the previous owner hooked it up(i would have put the money into performance) But there's and amp and a 12 disc cd player behind the back seats. The amp is actully mounted to the back of the rear seats, and the disc changer sits next to it. I've never had it skip

Look for an LOC (line out converter) You tap into speaker wires from the headunit somewhere and it has RCA outputs. It also filters out the high end too so you won't have to worry about that. Any install shop or car audio place should have one for around 20 bucks or so.
I wouldn't worry about your cd's skipping, I have 2 10's running 650watts RMS, they hit pretty hard and I've never had a cd skip. As I understand it, cd changers are really good about not skipping. You can leave it in the stock location and it will be fine. |
