any one have old lancer..or know someone with a lancer for a while?

i was thinking about gettin the evo vii, i heard by many people that mitsus in general, are poor cars, run good for a certain amout of miles, then start haveing problems ..some one please prove me wrong..

My best friend has an 11 year old gen1 eclipse gsx, and aside from the fact that it's an 11-year-old car and needs a new clutch, it runs like a top. It has several small engine mods and an exhaust, as well.

I'm interested in hearing from old evo owners, though....

A mate of mine has had a 1994-5 Lancer GLi for 300,000km. It just needed a new gearbox and clutch.
