Exclamation Veilside Combat Question.......

I have this kit on order at HLJ but it's backordered, Surprise Surprise !!!
This kit looks really cool & i'd love to build it. Im having my doubts though as usual with it being a fujimi. can anyone who's built or just plain "hoarding" it reassure me that it's a decent quality kit.
Thanks,
Later, Mike.

I have not build yet, but what I know the molding on the resin part is very beautiful and I was told that the resin body kit is cast by ST27. Hope to see your progress thread coming up shortly.

Well, all those with resin parts are well made. Only different material used. Veilside siliva, WagonR and GT-R are molded by ST27 with white and very light resin. As for S15, bB and Altezza are molded by Fujimi themself, is dark resin color but will be a little bit more heavier than ST27. What I dislike is Altezza front bumper, you have to cut the intercooler hole and is extactly the same as plastic molded front bumper in altezza.

forgot to add this... some of the bodykit like Veilside R32 and R33 are molded in white metal too.

Re: Veilside Combat Question.......

I picked up the Veilside Porsche 964 kit, and all the resin parts are way too small. I'm going to have to cut all of the parts in half and add at least 2mm to the side skirts, and front and rear bumpers.

I hate pretty well all the other veilside kits (apart from the R32 GT-R R1 streetdrag), especially the 180SX, s14 etc, but theres something about the supra one, just the right mix of aggression and flair (the others look tacked on and ugly, IMHO). I think with a nice slimline post GT-wing replacing the fugly veilside one, and rolling on some dished race style rims, it would make an awesome looking model. That said plenty of people like the veilside wing...I'm not one, but the front and rear bars, and side skirts, look good.

heres the veilside combat 2 supra bodykit

Like I say, imagine it in a decent shade (maybe white or Black) with say a carbon bonnet and a carbon GT wing on the back, dumped on some trick rims....

Re: Veilside Combat Question.......

ive got the 'early' version of the vielside s14, and i was very happy with the kit, i got all the vielside bodykit, 2 other sets of side skirts, 2 other spoilers, and the original bumper, only the wheels were a bit small. i reckon the bodykit makes up for any badly detailed parts, cuz it looks so cool

I've been waiting for this kit for ages, it's been on the yellow backorder for an eternity! As for Fujimi resin parts, I have the Veilside MR2 resin parts and they are not a good fit at all! The side skirts are too short, the rear bumper is short and the front splitter is too big!! However, the Silvia S13 kit is cast in white metal and that fits like a glove. It seems like a lottery with Fujii sometimes. I wish all their kits were like their Enthusiast series.
