The AEM EMS is a true stand alone and is better in my opion if you have the money. I would recommend having a professional tune either units, at least initially. Goto AEM's website and download the software for the EMS. It has more features than you might ever use.

I've heard some not so good things about it. It has too many features and can be a pain to tune. I was looking into getting it myself. I went to a local shop that can tune them on their dyno. They told me they stopped selling them for many reasons, but to name a few, they have so many options that it's difficult to tune and another reason is when you lose power to the ems, it locks itself and has to be sent to AEM to be unlocked. This didn't make a lot of sense to me so I'm not sure about the last one, but basically I've been told they can be a pain to tune. Hondata works well, but there are other standalones out there. The accel dfi was recommended to me also, but its a little pricey for the average guy.
