ls1 engine for 85 model
we have an 85 ss elcamino that my brother wrecked.. just the front end was messed up a little. well, the engine doesnt really run all that good. in fact, really shitty.. so would it be a good investment to rip out the weak 305 and put in an ls1 with it's tranny into it? the ls1 has about 60k miles on it and comes with the computer and everything. the engine and tranny combo is only $3000. worth it?

If you have $3000.00,go for it.But, engine transplants can be very costly.You have to have new everything,plugs,wires,coolant,oil.So much sh*& goes into an engine it's unreal.But,good luck.That sounds like an awesome combo.

thanks.. it's kindof just a project. i know it'll cost more, but i guess that's just part of it. it wont be for a while tho..dont have the money. i wish i had it tho..
