Re: Any low budget Cpi units out there?
Delonte...I hear ya loud and clear...
When I had this problem I did not plan on a $500. solution...and usually use salvage yard parts... Bought my new CPI Unit from rockauto.com for about $288. + Shipping and handling(please do not handle it so much will ya) Have you first tried the $21./bottle...GM Lifter Cleaner...my mechanic says you need to run a bottle of this stuf through once a yr. You could try to find a salvage yard that will let you remove a CPI Unit and soak/clean in a strong cleaner...let me know what you find... my Wseries was getting such bad milage like 10-11mpg...that with the new CPI and internal lines now I easily get 17-18mpg...a big savings... Hope you find an easier softer way...let us know... :o) |
