Unhappy 2001 Jimmy Diamond Studder

My 2001 w/ 46000 miles has developed a studder. It only happens after it's warmed up for like 10 miles or so. It happens when turning from a stop or starting at green light, etc... I have just had my rear axle bearings replaced twice in the course of 6 months and thought that was the problem. The dealer told me it was a bad power steering pump. I removed the serpintine belt and experienced the same problem which by-passed the pump all together. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Please help as I no longer have any warentee.

I have the same problem with my 2000 Jimmy and it started after I got the rear axle bearings changed about 6 month ago. I told the mechanic about it he took it for a road test and said it was fine, since the problem is intermittent he told me it was all in my head!! I am not a mechanic but I sure the problem is with the axle alignment causing it to studder when it's hot. Sorry I couldn't help very much but your not alone with the problem. If any one out there can help please let us know.

Thanks

Ron............

Thumbs up Jimmy no studder anymore

It finially got fixed, free of charge... I emailed GMC and basically told them all the problems I have encountered and they agreed to take care of the problem. It turned out, so the dealer told me, it was a vacuum switch to the transfer case that was leaking causing it to slip in and out while in 2 wheel drive. I still believe it was the rear axle bearings that finially seated. Whatever, it's fixed.
Jimmyboy, if you're the original owner, I would contact GMC to see if they will help out. Worht a try cause it worked for me. Sledhead
